Yorkshire Terrier Max arrived at Battersea when he was eight years old, after his owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Battersea’s veterinary experts noticed Max was very overweight for his breed and had a history of skin irritation and ear infections. But thanks to our dedicated clinic team winning his trust, Max was able to receive the treatment he needed to soothe his conditions and bring his weight down to a healthier level. Max was adopted by his foster carer two weeks after she first welcomed Max into her home.
Little Hector was only six or seven weeks old when he was found as a stray and brought into Battersea’s London centre last July. Staff noticed he was missing most of one of his legs and part of his tail. Our expert vets decided to remove the remaining part of his leg to give him the best chance of a healthy, happy life. Hector stayed with a loving foster family until he was strong enough for his surgery and despite his small size and injuries, he had a loud meow and was extremely playful. Hector was ready in November for his surgery and recovered quickly enough to find his forever home in time for the new year!
